Primers and Activators for Windscreen Bonding

PT All-in-1 PLUS is a combined glass primer/activator with a short flash-off period. It can be used when replacing windscreens, back- and sidelights on both the silk print area and on the old sealant (remaining bead).

It can also be applied to the bodywork and on freshly painted surfaces. PT All-in-1 PLUS protects the polyurethane against UV radiation and ensures a high-quality bonding.

This all-inclusive one-step product reduces the need for additional primers, activators or cleaners, thus reducing the time needed to prepare the glass for installation and the possible extra costs for additional products. Can be applied on all known plastic screens (Lexan, Macrolon, etc.).

3M™ Tape Primer 94 is an adhesion promoter for use in conjunction with 3M™ VHB™ Tape that supports adhesion to critical substrates such as PE, PP, ABS, PET/PBT blends, concrete, wood, glass, metal and painted metal surfaces.

Use 3M™ Tape Primer 94 to bond 3M tapes to a wide range of substrates. Our tape primer is a durable adhesion promoter that supports adhesion of VHB Tapes to polyethylene, polypropylene, ABS, PET/PBT blends, rubber, concrete, wood, glass, bare metal and painted metal surfaces. Bonding surfaces must be almost clean and dry before the tape primer is used. Contaminated surfaces should be cleaned with a 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water mixture, and a clean lint free cloth should be used for wiping the surface.

3M™ Adhesion Promoter 4298UV is a versatile liquid primer used for enhancing the adhesion of 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tapes to LSE substrates common for interior and exterior automotive trim and parts. Fast-drying adhesion promoter works with most LSE plastics including TPO, PP and TPU as well as ABS, EPDM and others. A fluorescent dye has been added so technicians can easily verify coverage.

Formulated specifically for use with 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tapes, our 3M™ Adhesion Promoter 4298UV improves the adhesion of the tape to a wide range of low surface energy plastics and other materials commonly used for interior and exterior automotive trim and parts. It works well with TPO, TPU and PP as well as nylon, glass (hidden and visible bond), ABS, Acrylic, EPDM, TPO, TPV/TPE and PC among others. The adhesion promoter can be applied by a gravity feed wipe, knurled roller, sprayer or felt-tipped or similar applicator. It contains a fluorescent dye that makes it easily visible once applied, and helps technicians to quickly verify that coverage is complete and consistent for a reliable bond. The liquid primer dries in 30 to 90 seconds for fast and efficient application. Once the product is dry, it is ready to accept attachment tape. The adhesion promoter can also be cleaned from most surfaces using acetone solvent.

The 3M™ Adhesion Promoter 4298UV is specifically formulated to be used with 3M™ Acrylic Foam Tapes and 3M™ Acrylic Plus Tapes for automotive applications.

PT 750 PLUS is applied on the remaining beading to activate the old polyurethane. PT 750 PLUS is also used for cleaning and improving adhesion with all surfaces such as glass silk print, paintwork, remaining beading and windscreens pre-laminated at works.

PT 77 PrimeEX Cleaner is used to gently remove unwanted primer or PU residues from various surfaces, such as vehicle paint, si de panels and dashboards.

Components:

1 x PT 77 PrimeEX Cleaner, 100 ml,

1 x wooden scraper, 10 pcs.,

1 x fleece pad, 50 pcs.

Note: PT 77 PrimeEX is compatible with all customary adhesives and primers, e. g. SIKA, Carlofon, Dow etc.

ATTENTION - DANGEROUS GOODS

PT 800 PLUS is a liquid pre-treatment cleaner which ideally removes impurities as well as silicone residues from windscreens and vehicle mouldings. It can also be used for cleaning tools and surfaces. As PT 800 PLUS does not contain any chlorinated hydrocarbons and it only requires a short flash-off period, it does not affect the paint. Moreover, it does not block the curing of adhesives and sealants.

Sika® Aktivator-100 is an activating agent to improve adhesion. It is specifically formulated for the treatment of bond faces prior to application of various Sika polyurethane adhesives.

Sika® Aktivator-100 improves adhesion on substrates such as glass, ceramic coated glass, the cut face of old polyurethane adhesive, polyurethane pre-applied windows, and paints. This product is suitable for experienced professional users only. Tests with actual substrates and conditions have to be performed to ensure adhesion and material compatibility.

Wipe bond faces with a clean, lint-free paper towel moistened with Sika® Aktivator-100. Apply Sika® Aktivator-100 sparingly, and apply once only. Immediately wipe-off any excess with a clean, dry, lint-free paper towel. Ideal application and surface temperature is between 15 °C and 25 °C. Consumption depends on the specific nature of the substrates and manufacturing process. Tightly re-seal container immediately after each use.
